Equipped with the RealSense 3D camera, the Aero is Intel’s first step in drone technology and can be purchased for just $1,099 with an integrated flight radio controller. Boasting autonomous flight features in addition to self-navigation through GPS and obstacle avoidance, the Aero is built of carbon fibre frame and includes altimeter and magnetometer.
The drone runs on a specially designed LiPo battery. For people interested in building and programming their drone from scratch, Aero development kit can be bought for just $399. However, pilots will have to buy cameras and other accessories separately in such a case. The device has a 8MP camera, runs on Linux OS and has an Atom x7-Z8750 processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB storage capacity, WiFi and USB 3.0 port.
