There have been myriad rumours floating around about the development of DJI Spark. This rumour though has plenty of weightage behind it backs we suspect. DJI were expected to arrange an event on May 24 in New York City and this news gives credence to the rumour that the launch of the most anticipated DJI Spark is pretty imminent.
DJI are yet to confirm this but we all are speculating to be surprised with the launch of a brand new selfie drone that will be compact in size and boast some really attractive specifications. As opposed to the audience targeted by the DJI Phantom series, this new selfie drone is expected to sport a more realistic price stacked at the lower end of the price spectrum.
A few leaked photographs of the DJI spark are floating around in the social media. In the image below, you can view the expected DJI Spark to the left and the already launched DJI Mavic to the right. So far, the DJI Mavic Pro is the smallest drone to have hit the shelves by DJI.
The pricing for the DJI Spark has to be competitive and realistic so that it is able to stand tall among the already available selfie drones in the market. If DJI decide to price this drone around $600 while ensuring that the camera quality is top class, then devices like Yuneec Breeze might have something to fear about in terms of competition.
What we can surmise from the leaked pictures is that the DJI Spark will be rechargeable via USB port. This will greatly facilitate in keeping the barrier of entry down and help make things easier for new competitors. The propellers also seem to be detachable although it does not appear that the DJI Spark will have the retractable propeller arms as those boasted by the DJI Mavic Pro.
We will soon get to know what DJI are going to surprise us with. What is your expectation regarding DJI Spark? Are you planning to purchase one once it hits the shelves? Let us know in the comments section!
