You all must be familiar with the world famous Snapchat app that is being used by millions the world over. Well, the same company for the super hit smartphone app is developing a drone that will enable the snapchat users to take aerial video footages and photographs and share them online. According to a report published in The New York Times, the new project by Snap is still shrouded in mystery and currently there is no certainty whether the new device will be able to hit the shelves any time sooner. As is the case with a lot of market products, Snap might decide against releasing the product in the market for consumer use. Nothing is clear for now.
The idea to get a drone to capture aerial photographs and videos of Snapchat users so that they can share them online is a cool one but will probably attract more ardent users of the application. Moreover, the price factor will also contribute in ensuring how much interest is garnered from the consumers.
Snap are not new into the domain of developing hardware based products. Spectacles, their sunglasses used to record videos was also released the previous year. They are currently available for $129.99 so we expect the drone to be even more expensive if it ever gets released in the market.
