Drone videos in Norway

One of the world’s largest airlines went to Norway to film people and landscapes using drone videos in Norway. See the goosebumps-inducing result.

The Dubai-based Emirates is one of the world’s largest airlines, with flights to 150 cities in 78 countries. Among them: Oslo and Norway. The drone videos in Norway are fundamental to its beauty.

To promote Norway as a destination, Emirates has now produced an incredible video. Using a drone flying over Western Norway, Northern Norway, and Oslo, they have caught a number of popular destinations on film – from above.

In one week the video has been seen 80 000 times on Youtube, and we expect that number to rise significantly in the coming months. Watch it here:

Norway is one of 18 global destinations chosen by Emirates for their project, “View from Above”. The idea is to show places that are would be difficult to capture using traditional methods. A drone opens up new angles and can easily reach those places. They have grazed rice fields in Vietnam, flown over lily pads in Seychelles – and between mountain crevices in Norway.

“The beautifully crafted films produced for this project not only feature destinations within our network in a stunning new light but also utilize innovative technologies in creative ways to produce dramatic footage. Our aim is to always connect with our audiences around the world, and we hope that people are inspired by these unique films,” said Boutros Boutros, Emirates’ Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Marketing and Brand.

In Visit Norway we are both grateful and incredibly impressed by the drone videos in Norway. It is a fantastic video, produced and directed by the company MOFILM.

Representatives of the local tourist industry are also excited:

“It’s a real treat that they have chosen this area. With an airline of this size behind the video, it will be seen by millions of travelers,” said Geir Steinar Vik from Destination Ålesund & Sunnmøre, one of the destinations being shown in the video, to the local newspaper Sunnmørsposten. He has the experience of capturing the best drone videos in Norway. “They obviously think that our area is among the most attractive in the country. They show cities and mountains, fjords and the coast, and they show people doing different activities. That’s exactly how we want to promote the area,” Vik said.
