The massive crossover drone racing challenge will take place in California and the winner gets a shot at $50,000. Headquartered in California, Aerial Sports League, an FPV drone racing challenge, will be organizing Xfinity CA Drone Speed Challenge Level 2 on July 18 and 19 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

What is really exciting about this event is that it is not merely a drone race. It is, as a matter of fact, an overlap between FPV racing and Velocidrone which is a multiplayer and single-player FPV drone racing simulator game.

The pilots will have to qualify in one of the four races which are taking place these days to get an entry into the big event.

A couple of qualifier events were held in the first half of the month and a couple more were arrange on June 23 at 8 p.m. ET and June 24 at 3 p.m. ET.

How to qualify for the FPV drone racing challenge?

The qualifiers of these races will get an entry into the main event to get a shot at $25,000 on a customized FPV drone racing challenge at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

To put the icing on the cake, $25,000 will be donated to a non-profit charity organization on behalf of the winners by Comcast, who will be sponsoring the huge event.

The organizers say that even those who are not able to win will get at least $1,500 in prize money in addition to $200 in spending money during the weekend, a couple of nights of hotel accommodation, a pilot dinner, and some other stuff including a swag bag.

Marque Cornblatt, CEO of Aerial Sports League hopes to up the ante this year after witnessing overwhelming success in the event last year. He is of the view that the event is a versatile competition that overlaps a video game and drones and that the FPV drone racing challenge expects a diverse range of pilots and gamers to participate with the winners having to portray a huge array of skills and dexterity to get to the top.

There is no restriction of age to participate in the racing event. Here is the link to Aerial Sports League’s official website for more detail along with the YouTube link.
