What makes DJI Phantom 2 so adorable

Design:

DJI have enormous experience behind their back and the products manufactured with their brand name come with a certain degree of the trust factor attached. Phantom 2 is one heck of a quadcopter that integrates the most cutting-edge technological advancement that can be found in the industry. The DJI Phantom 2 is ready-to-fly out of the box while its blades can be detached and re-attached with seamless comfort. Once the drone is powered, the blades lock themselves automatically.

Battery:

The battery includes an indicator to inform the pilot about the battery strength. It gives an optimum flight duration of about 25 minutes which is greater than the flight time offered by other drones in the market. So, you are promised to get loads of flight time in a single charge of the battery.

Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal:

The DJI Phantom 2 does not include a camera in its original packing. However, DJI does offer an addition Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal with compatibility options for the GoPro camera. The gimbal has been designed to provide pivotal support to the camera and consists of three motors that ensure that the entire framework remains stable. Even during shakier flights or when the drone is changing its direction, the camera stays steady and positions itself appropriately to capture high quality video footage. The video obtained with the help of this assembly is really smooth. The gimbal can be purchased as an additional feature. However, if you are interested in getting a device with a built-in gimbal, then view our Vision+ review.

Transmitter:

As compared to the DJI Phantom, the Phantom 2 model comes with a transmitter that boasts far greater sensitivity. The pilot is able to exercise tremendous control over the device and we were extremely impressed with the drone’s handling.

GPS:

You can do plenty of stuff with the GPS. The device’s path can be programmed using the GPS while the pilot can also control the landing and determine the landing zone with its help.

Where DJI Phantom 2 can improve

Flight Difficulty:

DJI Phantom 2 is an advanced machine that requires plenty of expertise on part of the pilot. You don’t need to acquire a license but you definitely ought to have a lot of extensive practice sessions in your armoury before you think of flying such a monster. You’ll be better off with some research on how to fly Phantom 2 and in case you are not interested in wasting your precious time trolling over instruction manuals and video tutorials, then you should get your hands on something that belongs to a beginner or advanced category. This device has been designed for the professional pilots. Having said that, if you’ve had some experience flying relatively easier drones, then there is every likelihood that you can master Phantom 2’s flight by watching a few YouTube video tutorials.

Upgrades

Here are the upgrades you might be looking forward to:

  1. Phantom 2 does not include a camera and so you’ll be required to buy an additional Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal which provides support for GoPro cameras.
  2. Tall Landing Skid Gear

Again a word of advice: do not buy this advanced drone if you are new into the flying business and have no idea of how these things work. However, if you do possess the skill and art of flying this beast, then it is one of the best machines out there with astonishing features. It will give you an exciting and thrilling flying experience and you can capture some very high quality video footages with its help. You can have a look at the prices of its different variants alongside our review.

Caution:
The DJI Phantom 2 does not include a gimbal or a GoPro camera with it. Either you’ll have to buy an additional gimbal or you can move onto the Vision models of the Phantom 2 series.
